The Icelandic Meteorological Office has updated the risk assessment due to the seismic activity on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The risk due to lava flow has been considered to have increased, while the risk due to volcanic ash is considered to have decreased.
In Grindavík, the danger level has been raised due to possible lava flow and indications that there will soon be news in the area.

The announcement by the Icelandic Met Office says that the risk assessment was reviewed at a scientific meeting yesterday morning. Changes related to the fact that the risk due to volcanic ash has been reduced from a considerable risk to a low risk in areas one and six.
